JEAN SMITH PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
ANNUAL REPORT 2016
The Jean Smith Prayer Shawl Ministry continues to meet the first and third Monday's each month at 9:30 a.m. at the home of Jeanette Bates.
On June 5 there was a dedication of a plaque in honor of Jean Smith, renaming the group to the Jean Smith Prayer Shawl Ministry.
We had a sale of handmade items at the Turkey Dinner in November. Some of the money went toward a poinsettia in memory of Jean, some will be donated to the Vanderkamp Fund and some will be used to purchase needed supplies for the projects we have planned.
Some of the recipients of our efforts are: the Golisano Children's Center, Ronald McDonald House, Auburn Community Hospital, Crouse Hospital, Cpt. Kyle R. Schneider Foundation as well as friends, families and others we learn of who might benefit from our items. We have sent 31 shawls and lap robes, at least 2 toy animals, 3 baby blankets, 46 sweaters and 73 newborn hats.
We look forward to more crafters joining us in the coming year.
